I cannot tell you how much fun I had last night playing in 10 inches of snow. My friends and I stayed outside well past midnight, building a gigantic snowman, an igloo that is so big, it's now a shelter, and several spontaneous snowball fights. I'll be honest, yesterday I was a little peeved at this winter storm because I was missing my best friend's birthday party. The snow didn't start falling until 5pm and it's hard to trust the weather channel in the south sometimes, so changing plans for something that may not happen can be very disappointing. Not to mention, I was super stressed about work and staying in a hotel room, as well as rushing to pack my bags before the roads got too bad. The drive down the mountain was stressful because I was sliding a bit whenever I would brake. I really wasn't having the best day, but once I got settled down where I needed to be things got much better. I went to boyfriend's house to pick up my winter coat when he suggested we go outside and build a huge snowman. His neighbors were returning from work when they noticed what we were attempting to do, so they joined us in the making of frosty, who ended up being over 6 feet tall. After that, the best idea was to build an igloo that could hold all of our friends easily. It took us hours to build but I enjoyed every single minute of it. All of the stress and disappointment from earlier cleared out my mind and I was so thankful to be able to spend a few hours, ankle deep in fresh powder with a few friends.
