Another Valentine's Day in the books, and I'm happy to still be holding boyfriend's hand during our second Valentine's day together. Recently, I've been doing a lot of reflecting on our relationship and how much its grown and changed since our first Valentine's day. Last year, Valentine's was spent hiking on a super cold day, while Brody was still a puppy. We hiked to a waterfall, where we had a warm picnic filled with conversations and stories we've never heard before. At the time, we had only been dating for a couple of months and we were on that "new high". Now we've been through a little bit more with each other, gotten a couple of tiffs under our belt, experienced more times of belly laughter, and we feel like we know each other now better than we know ourselves. I look at our relationship, and I see how genuine it truly is. We've seen each other grow and deal with many circumstances in our individual lives; whether they were difficult or joyful, sad or exciting. We know how to push each other's buttons, but respectfully acknowledge our boundaries. We've definitely had more good times than anything else, and I'm thankful for this relationship and all that I have learned about him and myself this past year. Needless to say, I'm anticipating on seeing where life leads us this year.
